THE DAY
WHAT THE DAY LOOKS LIKE
Away from the road
We ride in from Garmisch-Partenkirchen through Grainau on quiet forest paths and reach the water from the side almost nobody uses. The e-bike does the climbing; you do the looking.
Around the lake
Eibsee is a ring of small bays, and the light is different in every one. We ride the full loop with stops at the coves we know, including the bridge where the Zugspitze stands in the water.
Up to the summit, if you want it
The cable car to 2,962 m leaves from the lake itself. If the sky is open and you have the appetite, we add it to the day. Tickets are extra, and we decide on the spot rather than promise a view the mountain might not give.
A break by the water
We stop at a lakeside hut for a drink and a snack before riding home through the hamlets of Grainau.

CHOOSE YOUR AFTERNOON
This is where a private day earns its price. Depending on how you feel by lunchtime, we pick one together.
THE ROUTE
HOW THE DAY RUNS
Garmisch-Partenkirchen → Riessersee → Grainau → Eibsee → optional Zugspitze → Garmisch-Partenkirchen
• Meet at the bike shop in Garmisch-Partenkirchen — fitting, a short safety briefing, and off.
• Riessersee — the first lake, a few minutes above the town, with the Zugspitze already in view.
• Forest path to Eibsee via Grainau — about an hour on quiet, shaded trails away from traffic.
• Eibsee loop — the full ring of the lake, with stops at the hidden coves and the best photo spots.
• Optional Zugspitze — cable car from the lake to 2,962 m, weather permitting. Tickets extra.
• Lakeside break — a drink and a snack at a traditional hut right by the water.
• Back to Garmisch through Grainau — panoramic trails with the Zugspitze in view most of the way home.

BEFORE YOU COME
MEETING POINT
The ride starts in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in one of two e-bike shops, which is closer to your accommodation.
WHAT TO BRING
• Comfortable clothes you can cycle in
• A warm layer — it is cooler at the lake than in town, and colder again at the summit
• Sunglasses and sun cream (in the sunny days)
KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK
You need to be comfortable balancing and braking on a regular bicycle—the motor is only there to assist you on the climbs. Children and pets are very welcome, but you should be able to carry them if they get tired.
If the weather makes the ride impossible, we have a few great backup options:
1. We can reschedule the tour for another day if it works for your calendar.
2. We can easily switch to a comfortable car tour (for groups of up to 4 people).
3. We can refund the tour in full, minus a minor 5% bank processing fee.
Whenever possible, we run our tours with both of us, meaning you get two local hosts instead of just one!
NOT ALLOWED
• Alcohol before or during the ride
CANCELLATION
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. Inside 24 hours a €150 fee applies.
