The day you write yourself
Most tours hand you a list and drive it. This one starts the other way round: you tell us what you want to see, and we tell you what actually fits between breakfast and dinner — because we drive these roads every week and know which combinations work and which turn into a day in the car.
What you can choose from
• Linderhof Palace — the small, gilded one Ludwig II actually finished and lived in, with the Venus Grotto in the park
• Ettal Abbey — a Benedictine monastery from 1330 under a baroque dome, with a brewery and a distillery still run by the monks
• Oberammergau — painted house fronts, woodcarvers' workshops, the Passion Play village
• Mittenwald — violin makers since 1684, frescoed walls, the Karwendel straight above
• Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau — the two castles above Alpsee
• Plansee and Forggensee — the water, across the border and back
• Füssen — the old town at the end of the Romantic Road
What actually fits
Four stops in a day is comfortable. Five is possible if they are close together. Six is a day spent looking out of a window, and we will say so rather than sell it to you. A good combination is one palace, one village and one lake — or, if you want the castle, Neuschwanstein plus a lake plus one more thing, because the castle eats three hours on its own.
How the morning works
If the cloud is low, the villages beat the viewpoints; if it is clear, we chase the light. Then we drive, and if by three o'clock you would rather sit by a lake than see another church, we sit by the lake.

HOW THE DAY RUNS
Garmisch-Partenkirchen → the stops we choose together → Garmisch-Partenkirchen
• Pick-up at your hotel or apartment in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at a time we agree with you.
• The plan — we set the route together over the first coffee, with the day's weather in front of us.
• The big stop — Neuschwanstein or Linderhof if you want a castle, Ettal Abbey if you would rather have the baroque without the queue. Entry tickets extra.
• The villages — Oberammergau's painted houses, Mittenwald's violin workshops, or the arcades of Füssen.
• The water — Plansee and Forggensee on the castle side, Eibsee and the smaller lakes on the Garmisch side.
• Dinner — at a Bavarian restaurant we eat at ourselves, if the day still has room for it.
• Back in Garmisch-Partenkirchen — door-to-door, in the evening.

BEFORE YOU COME
MEETING POINT
Door-to-door. We collect you from your hotel or apartment in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and bring you back to the same address. The exact pick-up time we agree with you personally.

• Comfortable shoes with decent grip — no boots needed
• A warm layer even in summer: it is often ten degrees colder in the mountains and at the summit
• Sunglasses
• Your passport or ID, in case the day crosses into Austria

We plan the route together with you and customize it entirely to your preferences. Every car tour is also flexibly adapted to the weather conditions on the day of the tour.
If you'd like to visit castles like Neuschwanstein or Linderhof, we are always happy to help secure interior tickets for you, though we cannot guarantee availability due to frequent ticket shortages.
Whenever possible, we run our tours with both of us, ensuring you receive maximum attention and a truly personalized experience!
